- Sensors can be installed into timber flooring or framing, concrete flooring, plasterboard walls. Retrofitting into existing houses is easiest done on a timber floor house, with a crawlspace underneath.
- Sensors can be installed directly into the walls in new build homes, running sensor wiring through the studs to monitor many places that are unreachable once construction is finished.
- The control module is ideally mounted in an out of the way spot such as under the house, in a cupboard in the laundry or similar location. The control module requires access to a 240V AC power outlet near the installation point. (Installation of an outlet is not included as part of a regular install and may have to be arranged separately with an electrician.)
- The system will not send any alerts during the first 10 days of installation. During this time it is building a unique profile for each sensor to ensure accurate moisture detection and lower the risk of a false alert.
- For the rental connection type, LTE (4G) cellphone service coverage is required at the installation address to ensure data uploads are carried out.
- If the house is sold, the new owner will need to contact us directly at info@woodwatch.click with proof of ownership, to have the alert contact information updated.
