Sensors can be installed into timber flooring or framing, concrete flooring, plasterboard walls. Retrofitting into existing houses is easiest done on a timber floor house, with a crawlspace underneath.
Sensors can be installed directly into the walls in new build homes, running sensor wiring through the studs to monitor many places that are unreachable once construction is finished.
The control module is ideally mounted in an out of the way spot such as under the house, in a cupboard in the laundry or similar location. The control module requires access to a 240V AC power outlet near the installation point. (Installation of an outlet is not included as part of a regular install and may have to be arranged separately with an electrician.)
The system will not send any alerts during the first 10 days of installation. During this time it is building a unique profile for each sensor to ensure accurate moisture detection and lower the risk of a false alert.
For the rental connection type, LTE (4G) cellphone service coverage is required at the installation address to ensure data uploads are carried out.
If the house is sold, the new owner will need to contact us directly at info@woodwatch.click with proof of ownership, to have the alert contact information updated.
